In February, 2006, Pastor John Hagee decided the time had come to create a national grassroots movement focused on the support of Israel. He called upon Christian leaders from across America to join him in launching this new initiative. Over 400 Christian leaders answered the call and Christians United for Israel was born.

Under the vision of CUFI, NYS CUFI is committed to seeing believers throughout New York State educated and mobilized as an active force in supporting Israel.

CUFI has 2 main objectives:

1. To Educate & Build Christian Support For Israel Throughout America. CUFI pursues this goal through the distribution of literature and DVD's, Middle East Briefing and holding Nights to Honor Israel in communities throughout the country.

2. To Convene in Washington, D.C. Every year, for the an annual Washington summit. This enables CUFI members to personally speak with their elected representatives on behalf of Israel. At critical junctures throughout the year, CUFI members will also be mobilized through Rapid Response Alerts to generate phone calls and e-mails requesting action for Israel from the Administration and Congress.
