We join all Christian churches in the call to preach the Gospel to all people, bringing them into the salvation of Jesus Christ, and to disciple them and equip them for works of service. But as a unique part of the Body of Christ, the following distinctions mark our specific purpose:
- Developing and maintaining relationships is core to who we are and critical to our purpose. We see the Church based on a family model, and we are called to strengthen families and cause each member to know the security and benefits of family.
- We are an apostolic church. The sign of our apostolic calling is broad servant leadership, through which we identify and help meet needs in all parts of the communities or nations to which we are called. We seek to lead where we are called to lead, and to honor and support other ministries or congregations in their callings.
- We are called to role model and bring about unity, tearing down walls that separate people ethnically, socially, economically, educationally, geographically or by gender.
Our vision is simply the great commandment that Jesus gave His disciples in Mark 12.30, "Love the Lord your God with all of your heart and soul and mind and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself." Our desire is that every member of our congregation will take advantage of opportunities to serve others wherever they are, seeing every need as an opportunity and every person as an object of God's love.
