General Description:
There are two primary purposes for this position. One of your key responsibilities will be to provide general oversight, leadership, direction, and support to our Preschool Director and Youth Pastor. Although each ministry will have its own personality & objectives, we understand the value of working together in our focus to serve and love the families of Bethel & our surrounding communities. The other key responsibility will be to provide pastoral care, leadership, and guidance to the grade school students of Bethel, with a strong emphasis on the recruitment, training, & engagement of volunteers who have a heart to see young people grow in their relationship with Jesus.
What you will be doing (generally speaking):
Oversee all ministries pertaining to kids & youth
Develop a comprehensive vision for Family Ministries as a whole and implement strategies that move towards its accomplishment
Cast vision to your team & clearly communicate expectations of these ministries
Work closely with Family Ministry staff in the development of annual goals for their respective ministry
Recruit, equip, develop, & engage volunteers in Children’s Ministry in particular, but also support the Preschool Director & Youth Pastor in their recruitment
Provide for ongoing vision & implementation for the development of Children’s Ministry
Oversee the Family Ministry & Children’s Ministry Budgets
Develop and / or improve & maintain proper safety & security procedures for Family Ministry areas
Maintain good two-way communication with parents
Help with parenting classes and scheduling of Family Ministry activities, etc.
Oversee the screening of potential volunteers for your areas of ministry
Experience, Skills, and Requirements:
A strong personal relationship with Jesus, the body of Christ, & God’s work in the world
5+ years experience working in a leadership role in the church
3+ years experience working with elementary age children
Bachelor’s degree in a child-related field preferred
Very strong organizational and communication skills (both oral & written)
A demonstrated ability to lead, instruct, motivate, and direct people (both staff & volunteers) in accomplishing goals & activities
Creative ability in your teaching of kids
Ability to use appropriate judgement, discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality
A commitment to personal growth & discipleship as part of the BCF family, and one that sets an example for others and attracts people to become followers of Christ
Hours:
Full Time / Exempt / 40 Hours per week
BCF Home Church attendance required
Pay:
48 – 55k
